Mumba salutes his players

ZANACO’s head coach Keagan Mumba has hailed his players for putting up a gallant fight against Mbabane Swallows last Sunday to qualify to the next stage of the CAF Champions competition.
The bankers carried  a 3-2 victory achieved in the first leg tie before the return match played in Swaziland at  the week and  to progress to the second round.
Zanaco now face South African giants Orlando Pirates and Mumba was optimistic that his charges were capable  of reaching group stage after ejecteting Swallows.
He said that the current team work among the players was what gifted goals for Kabuku Mubunga and Captain Henry Banda’s brace that gave  the bankers an added advantage over Swallows two weeks earlier at Nkoloma stadium.
He said that next game against Orlando Pirates will need a similar character that helped the team beat Swallows.
He said that what helped the bankers to sail through was because of scoring more goals in the first leg tie.
Mumba was reacting to Swallows coach Nyanga Hlope who warned ZANACO after first leg match that he was going to score more goals in Mbabane and qualify to next stage , but things did not go his way.
Mumba said that Hlope and his Swallows failed to score a goal in the second leg tie in front of home supporters.
Mumba said that coaches should only talk to the Press about their game plans and not to insult their opponents.
“We have seen coaches who start word attacks on their opponents before the actual game is played “said Mumba.
And Zambia ‘s representatives in CAF cup Power Dynamos technical bench have added pressure on themselves after failing to guard their 1-0 victory when they went down 2-0 against Clube Recreativo de Caala in the second leg tie played in Humbo on Sunday.
Recreativo de Caala Head Coach Ricardo Formazinho guided his side to a  2-0 victory  and over turned a 1-0 defeat they suffered in Kitwe two weeks earlier.
