GBM under fresh attack

Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) has been accused of harbouring presidential ambitions by a group of top  PF officials who have made it impossible for him to visit his Kasama Central constituency.

The senior PF officials have reportedly accused him of campaigning for the presidency each time he visited Kasama, and this has prompted  him to stop visiting for fear of being misunderstood.

The complaint against GBM is contained in a letter signed by 15 constituency members. They  complained that their MP has not met nor sat down with them to plan development and political programmes since the PF government assumed power.

The decision to curtail the visits has not been well received by the people in in his constituency who claim that planning for development in GBM’s absence has been hard.

The constituency officials complained that it has proved difficult for them to implement their programme of action as well as to mobilize party’s activities in eight (8) wards of their constituency.

They further complained that they lacked logistics such as financial and transport resources.

They are calling on their Member of Parliament to consider visiting them and rejuvenate party activities which are alleged to be at stand still. But GBM believes that external agents are sponsoring Kasama Central Constituency Committee members to petition the office of the PF Secretary General, Wynter Kabimba to ‘help resolve” the impasse.
