PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba should stop attacking the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) for the ruling party’s losses in Kafulafuta, Solwezi East and Chipata Central recent by elections, says UPND Southern Province provincial Chairman Province Billiard Makwembo.
Speaking in an interview with the Daily Nation in Livingstone, Mr. Makwembo said Mr Kabimba should stop accusing the ECZ of working against the PF because that would not change anything.
Mr. Makwembo said that Mr Kabimba and the PF should accept that they have lost their popularity adding that the ruling party should come to terms with the fact that they lost the by-elections in a clear way.
“As provincial chairman for UPND in Southern Province, I would like to caution the PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba and his PF to stop accusing the ECZ over their loss in the recent by-elections. The ECZ is working in conformity with this country’s constitution so ECZ has got nothing to do with PF’s loss in Solwezi, Kafulafuta and Chipata,
“PF should accept that they have lost their popularity so they must come to terms with the fact that they lost these by-elections,” he said
He said attacking the ECZ will not help PF in anyway and that it was now clear that UPND was forming government in 2016 or earlier than that.
“What we know for sure as UPND is that we are forming government in 2016 or earlier than that and I want to appeal to the people of Zambia to give us their support and we will not disappoint them like PF has done,” he said.
And the UPND in Southern Province has congratulated the people of Kafulafuta, Solwezi East and Chipata central for showing the PF that they are not worthy being in power.
“As UPND provincial chairman, I want to congratulate the people of Solwezi East and Kafulafuta for accepting UPND in their areas.
“To me the outcome of the by-elections tells us that the people who are saying that UPND is a regional party have been proved wrong and they should now stop saying so,” he said
He further congratulated the people of Chipata Central for teaching the PF a lesson by rejecting the party in the province.
Meanwhile, Mr. Makwembo has announced that the UPND in the South will be holding a fundraising braii in Choma to raise funds for the party operations in the country.
