PF wants Chumbwe expelled

The PF in Lusaka has demanded for the immediate resignation of Lusaka Province PF chairperson Geoffrey Chumbwe together with his provincial youth chairman Kennedy Kamba for gross indiscipline and violence in the party.

PF Lusaka district youth chairman Yelisa Nkondowe told the Daily Nation that the youth leadership in the district has resolved to demand for the expulsion of Chumbwe and Kamba because they have allegedly failed to maintain discipline in the party.

“The youths of Lusaka District are calling for the resignation of PF provincial chairman Geoffrey Chumbwe with his provincial youth chairman Kennedy Kamba and Daniel Kalembe. If these people remain in the party, it means that the wrangles which we have experienced in the past six months will not end because of their violent behaviour,” said Nkondowe.

He said that the new leadership led by Mulenga Sata would not function as long as the Chumbwe administration continued to be at the helm of the PF in the province.

“These people (Chumbwe, Kalembe and Kamba) will continue to influence thugs to frustrate the works at district level and elsewhere. We don’t want people who encourage violence. We have already lost members to violence and we don’t want it to continue,” said Nkondowe.

He said that the PF at grassroots knew that the former district chairman Goodson Banda was used by some provincial leaders to work against other party officials who did not agree with the leadership.

“We want to warn them to act now and step aside, this is a timely warning and our appeal for Chumbwe, Kamba and Kelembe is to resign and they must take this plea seriously before we start kawawawa (demonstrations). I need to take this opportunity to state that under the leadership of Mulenga Sata that the use of pangas is the thing of the past, and I can assure the people of Zambia that,” he said.
