The Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) will hold its postponed Natioanl Excutive Committee (NEC) meeting this Saturday.
Party president Dr Nevas Mumba told Daily Nation that the meeting could not be cancelled despite calls by some party members because NEC had to make decisions for the well being of the party.
aDr. Mumba, said his party’s NEC meeting will take place as scheduled and that other issues relating to holding of this meeting will soon be availed by the party’s Secretariat.
“We are confident that the NEC meeting would take place as scheduled because all we need is a formation of a quorum of NEC members in line with our party constitution,” Dr. Mumba explained.
Dr. Mumba said the party was doing well, it was for reason that MMD was amongst four opposition political parties that have formed the an Alliance.
He said his party has so far attended several meetings of the Alliance and was yet to attend another meeting for the next step of the Alliance.
