NAREP condemns SACCORD constitution meet

The just ended Constitution Indaba organised by the Southern Africa  Centre for Conflicts Resolutions and  Disputes (SACCORD) was a plot to betray Zambians on the constitution making process, says National Restoration Party (NAREP) Youth League Secretary General Bwalya Nondo said.

Mr Nondo said it was very disappointing and unfortunate that SACCORD could be asking Zambians if they were in need of a people driven constitution

He advised SACCORD to embody the spirit of service to the people which,- was greater than to themselves if they have to continue being relevant to their funder and indeed Zambians.

NAREP youths believed that the current constitution could not protect anybody, including President Michael Sata and his PF.

“It is for this reason that some politicians have put their face and trust in cadres to protect them from the opposition and competition,” Mr Nondo said.

Mr Nondo said if the current constitution was effective Mr Sata and some politicians would have condemned the lawlessness exhibited by PF cadres.

“We wish to remind SACCORD that the committee on drafting the constitution was put in place by President Sata because he knew deep down his heart this country needed a people driven constitution,” Mr Nondo said.

Mr Nondo said for Zambia to be a great nation a people driven constitution must be in place now and SACCORD must know that everyone was very much aware of their manoeuvres to betray the people of this country. Mr Nondo said SACCORD’s wicked plan shall never prevail especially on great generation of youths today that has a heart for Zambia.

“SACCORD should therefore stop lying to the people of this country, if they are serious with serving the people, they should show an example and stand to the right side of history,” Mr Nondo said.
