Zambian Airways case today

The case in which owners of the defunct Zambian Airways were sued over the K14 billion they obtained from the Development Bank of Zambia comes up in the High Court today.

The directors of the defunct Zambian Airways who included Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Mutembo Nchito, Post Newspaper owner Fred M’membe and Nchima Nchito are in court over the loan they refused to pay back to DBZ.

The directors appealed against an earlier judgment by High Court Judge Nigel C Mutuna who ordered the Airline to pay back the loan. They appealed to the Supreme Court.

The matter was sent back to High Court by the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, Zambian Voice executive director Chilufya Tayali has applied to join the case on behalf of the tax payers for the money to be paid back.

  1. this is a straight forward issue which even the courts of law know about it. but we wonder why so many corners on this case this borrowed money must be brought back to the government of Zambia who will decide over it.

  2. PM says:

This is really a joke. The man has one known pending case and yet he is DPP!!!What rubbish is this. RB is right to refuse being prosecuted by this idiot of a DPP. The DPP is supposed to determine which cases are prosecutable and yet the Nchito idiot wants to spend all his time in court trying to prosecute RB knowing the case is unminnable.
