No Sata, no PF- HH

The Patriotic Front government will not go beyond President Michael Sata’s tenure of office, says UPND president Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr. Hichilema predicted that the failure by President Sata to give Zambians a constitution would not award the PF a second term in power.

He said the arrogance, intolerance and lack of respect for the rule of law shown so far by the PF was worrying the people of Zambia as they did not know where the PF leadership was taking the country to.

Mr. Hichilema said Zambians would not forgive the PF for failure to rule according to democratic principles.

He said it was also a fact that the PF was no longer a strong party because of its leadership succession wrangles and its failure to bring down the prices of all essential commodities.

Mr. Hichilema said the downfall of the PF was nearing and would be embarrassing to the leadership because the PF would fail to stay in the opposition for the first time after losing power.

“One thing the PF should know is that its downfall is nearing soon. And when the time the PF will lose power will come, it will not exist even as an opposition political party because no one will want to associate himself with a failed political party while in government,” said Mr. Hichilema.

He said the leadership wrangles in the PF were a sign of discomfort among themselves on who should take over the party when President Sata retires from politics.

Mr. Hichilema said  there was no doubt that the PF was depleting and soon there would be mass exodus of senior party official.

“I am sure mid next year the PF will remain a shell because serious minded politicians if there are any in the PF would have left to join other progressive political parties. It will only be corrupt elements who will remain in the PF because they have to protect their interests and stop being persued by security wings,” said Mr. Hichilema.

He said there was no way the PF would continue to govern the country when they have failed to show leadership in the manner they were running the affairs of the nation, adding that failure to come up with a developmental agenda would be one of the many reasons why the PF would be kicked out of power.

“Life in Zambia for an average Zambian has become unbearable under President Sata’s reign and the very people who are with Mr. Sata today in government are the ones who want to take over government. But the questions we should ask ourselves are that, can people like Minister of Justice Wynter Kabimba run a country? Can Wynter unite this country? Can people like Chishimba Kambwili govern a nation like Zambia?” he asked.

He said it was only UPND which would work towards making Zambia a better place to live in, adding that when given an opportunity to form government his party would ensure that it invests in Agriculture, Health development, free education for all from Grade one to University level.

Mr. Hichilema said that there was too much suffering, poverty and lack of equity before the law in Zambia.

The outspoken opposition leader said tZambia was diseased by the PF’s failure to streamline governance and democracy.

“This is what we have been saying and it is our hope that the people of Zambians shall always wait and see where the PF was going and what it will achieve. Our prayer is to see our poor people remain vigilant,” said Mr. Hichilema.

He also said the events that have taken place in the country in the past few weeks have not only been shocking but a source of concern towards the promotion of democracy and good governance for all the people.
