Misisi bizarre murder suspects in court

Two men accused of having killed a man of Lusaka’s Misisi Township and later removed his private parts on thursday appeared in a Lusaka Magistrates’ court charged with murder.

Before Magistrate Nchimunya Simabubi were Bruce Kazembe 31 of Lilanda Township and Alex Mwanza 27 of Kuku Extension who are alleged to have murdered Haggai Chabuteeba on June 15 or 16.

The body of Chabuteeba was discovered in a ditch along the railway line between Misisi and Royal Temple International Church by passer-bys around 06.00 hours.

The court adjourned the matter to a later date to await instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Zambia Police Public Relations officer Charity Munganga confirmed the killing of Chabuteeba who was found with the throat completely cut open and a deep cut on the right cheek. Chabuteeba’s   private were missing. She also confirmed that Police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the motive behind the killing and the removal of private parts from the body.

The private parts were taken to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) for expert opinion.
