Police in the North-Western Province have arrested a small scale farmer who axed his friend to death after a drinking spree.
Police say the incident happened in Kabompo district last Monday at Kayambila village in Senior Sikufela’s area.
North western province Police Commissioner Eugene Sibote confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Solwezi yesterday. Mr Sibote named the deceased as Kazhila Kayombo 36, who died after been axed by his friend Kenneth Konde of the same village after the two had gone to drink beer together.
The Police Commissioner said the deceased sustained deep cuts on the chest, neck and back. Mr Sibote said Konde ran away into the bush after the incident but an angry mob caught him and beat him up before he was apprehended by police. Meanwhile, Police have detained Konde in police custody and will appear in court soon.
