Luapula Province permanent secretary Chanda Kasolo has assured investors intending to set-up businesses in his province that government will support their interests.
Mr Kasolo said government developmental agenda is all inclusive adding that it will protect any investor that comes to improve the economy of the province.
He said government was focused on development that would see ordinary Zambians benefit saying Luapula had a lot of economic potential that would be supported if any investor went to invest in the province.
Mr Kasolo said this when he addressed a team of investors from South Africa on Thursday.
The South Africans are in Luapula province to explore prospects of investing in different sectors of the local economy and also interact with the business community in the area.
Mr Kasolo assured investors that government had embarked on ambitious projects in the road sector and that once completed would ease the movement of goods and services in the entire province. The permanent Secretary told the investors that Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo had good relations which opens any investment to markets in that country.
He said the Democratic Republic of Congo plans to put up a rail line that will pass through Kashiba border in Mwense through to Tanzania adding that the prospects of the line would benefit investment in the province. – ZANIS
