LABOUR Minister Fackson Shamenda has reported Dangote Industries Zambia Limited to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for attempting to bribe him after the cement company denied the allegations of inducement.
Mr Shamenda confirmed to the Daily Nation that he had decided to inform the ACC about how Dangote Industries human resources manager Bala Zango tried to lead him into corruption temptations by offering him dinner at Intercontinental Hotel recently.
Mr Shamenda has vowed that he would continue harassing Dangote Industries if the cement company was going to engaging in activities that would be inimical to the values of the Patriotic Front (PF) government.
He said he had decided to inform the Anti-Corruption Commission about the attempts to bribe him after Dangote accused him of harassment.
Mr Shamenda however said he had nothing against the cement company apart from its alleged misconduct.
He explained that he had not earlier reported Dangote to ACC because he wanted to give them an opportunity to check their conscience as an African company investing in Zambia but was disappointed that the company had shown no remorse over their alleged corrupt action.
“I called the ACC so that I inform them about what transpired over this Dangote thing. That gentleman they are now calling a junior officer
