Chamanga brace lifts Chinese side

JAMES Chamanga last weekend scored a brace for Chinese side Liaoning Whowin in a 2-1 win over Dalian Aerbin to ease his team’s relegation worries.

Chamanga was on target in the 3rd and 73rd minutes to see them move from 14th and up to 11th position away from the bottom two relegation zone in the 16-team China Super League.

The veteran Zambia striker played the full 90 minutes for Liaoning who have one more game left to try and ensure their China Super League survival.

Liaoning are currently on 32 points from 29 matches played and a home victory over ninth placed Shanghai Shenhua on November 2 will ensure their top flight survival.

Meanwhile, the goals took Chamanga’s tally for the 2014 season to eleven.

And midfielder Lubambo Musonda over the weekend scored the winning goal to hand Armenian league leaders Ulisses a 3-2 away win over Ararat.

The 20-year-old Zambia midfielder on Saturday broke the deadlock in the 44th minute to ensure Ulisses’ three points on the road.

Lubambo’s goal was his second for Ulisses since joining them in August from FAZ Super Division side Power Dynamos.

The midfielder played the full 90 minutes in his tenth successive start since joining Ulisses on a 12-month deal. Meanwhile, Ulisses’ win sees them open a 13 point lead at the summit of the Armenian Premier League table on 31 points from eleven games played.
