Don’t waste your votes,says UPND

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) in Southern Province has urged the electorate in the province not to waste their votes on presidential candidates whose character is questionable.

And the UPND has charged that Zambians will contribute to the country’s bad governance if they allow the PF to rule even after January 20, 2015 presidential election.

UPND provincial secretary Winnerson Ng’uni said some of the presidential candidates’ background and character was questionable and was quick to wonder why they should be voted into office by the people of Zambia.

Mr. Ng’uni said it would be unfortunate for the people of Zambia to entrust the welfare of the nation with people who did not have any vision for the country.

The UPND provincial secretary said that some of the aspiring candidates did not even have their party structures to show their seriousness while others could not even afford a motorbike to use for their campaigns.

He said the UPND in Southern Province was viewing the January 20, 2015 presidential election seriously.

“The UPND is calling on Zambians to take next year’s elections seriously. As a country, we have agreed that we had made a mistake to vote for the PF in 2011 general elections which made them form Government. We also agreed that we voted PF into Government not because it was the best party, but because we were deceived by PF campaign massages; now it is time to correct the situation. Zambians should realize that they have an opportunity to kick out PF on January 20, 2015,” said Mr. Ng’uni.

“Our message as UPND is that, not only has PF failed but the party has also brought the high levels of poverty which the country has witnessed in the last three years that the PF has been in power. We should remind ourselves that failure to remove them will lead to total disaster,” he said.

Mr. Ng’uni added that it would be a sad day if voters would just vote for the sake of voting without considering the credibility of those standing.

He added that the MMD did its part but time had come for Zambians to put their trust in Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND

“It is time to trust another big party, the United Party for National Development (UPND) and its leader Hakainde Hichilema. We want to advise the voters to avoid wasting their votes by trusting the PF or the MMD again. They have failed us,” said Mr. Ng’uni.

He said people should vote for a leader with a vision to develop Zambia.
