CHIPOLOPOLO Under-20 captain Lubambo Musonda has described as tough the Group B in which the national team has been placed alongside Ghana, South Africa and Mali ahead of the Senegal 2015 Orange CAF youth championship.
Musonda said the junior Chipolopolo have no option but to put in their best regardless who they face during the tournament.
“We just have to put in the best. We can make it as the favourites in our group,” Musonda said.
He said Ghana was a great team and advised his team mates to train hard if they expect to win.
Musonda said as a captain, his target has always been to reach the World Cup after competing favourably in Africa.
He said the players should be committed as the team goes to Senegal next year, adding that the team needed adequate preparations.
Meanwhile, the Under-17 national team has been drawn in Group A ahead of next year’s CAF junior championships.
CAF conducted the draws on Saturday evening at its headquarters in Cairo and placed the Zambia Under-17 boys alongside Niger, Nigeria and Guinea.
The Under-17, who will be making their debut at the CAF finals, will face the defending champions Nigeria.
The finals of the Orange Under-20 competition will be held from 8-22 March 2015 in Senegal while the Under-17 championship takes place from 15 February to 1 March next year in Niger.
The two finalists in each group during the two championships will represent the continent at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup and 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile and New Zealand respectively.
