ZAMBIANS should not expect the police and other State wings to investigate the stealing and leaking of classified Government documents and bring the culprits to book because the institutions are heavily infiltrated by agents of the enemies of President Lungu and the Patriotic Front (PF), Frank Bwalya has charged.
Fr Bwalya said there was urgent need for the PF Government to flush out agents of the enemies of the ruling party that are still in Government’s strategic institutions and departments and undermining the presidency.
He said the people using a named media house had made progress in recruiting some gullible opposition political party leaders as well as known politically-inclined leaders of civil society organisations to scandalise President Lungu as part of their strategy to campaign against the PF Government.
Fr Bwalya told the Daily Nation that there were people outside Government who in the past placed their agents in Government institutions and departments with the view of controlling Government operations.
He said the placement of pawns in strategic Government departments by enemies of the State was initially meant to support a preferred and specific politician to succeed late president Michael Sata.
Fr Bwalya observed that having failed to succeed with their scheme, the clique through their agents and surrogates in Government departments had devoted their efforts towards undermining the leadership of President Lungu.
“I am warning and alerting all our members as the PF and particularly Zambians about the scheme of people who have launched a malicious propaganda campaign against the ruling party and President Lungu. These are the people who in the past managed to place their agents and surrogates in strategic Government departments. Initially, the placement of the agents in Government strategic institutions was meant to support a specific politician to succeed late president Sata, But now that the scheme has failed, these agents of the enemies of the PF have chosen to devote their efforts towards undermining the leadership of President Lungu,” Fr Bwalya said.
He explained that the clique was well aware that their preferred presidential candidate in the 2016 general elections did not have what it takes to pull a surprise and become republican president and would therefore dedicate their energies to maliciously scandalise President Lungu and his Government.
He stated that the clique had resolved that before it could come up with more reliable and credible strategy and candidate for the 2016 general elections, they had decided to be destructive by undermining Government operations.
Fr Bwalya stated that the leaking of classified Government documents and State secretsis to ensure that President Lungu should find it difficult to govern the country so that Zambians could rise against the Head of State.
He warned that Zambians should not expect the police to investigate the stealing and leaking of Government classified documents and secrets because most of the State investigative wings were heavily infiltrated.
Fr Bwalya said PF members and well-meaning Zambians should take it upon themselves and defend the legitimately constituted government.
He said citizens should be vigilant and defend the values of the country and uphold democracy and the rule of law adding that the machinations of the enemies of the ruling party should be thwarted wherever it was being implemented.
