Zambia national soccer team interim coach George ‘‘chicken’’ Lwandamina says good planning and adequate preparation is the medicine to help Chipolopolo beat Sudan in the Russia 2018 World Cup second round qualifier.
Lwandamina said every draw carries a 50/50 chance for each team. Both teams have an average chance of advancing to the group stage. “What we need is good planning and adequate preparation to overcome the North Africans, ” he said
He said he will not refer to the past record of Zambia’s performance against Sudan but will work with the present. ” Yes, Zambia has had difficulties in beating Sudan. We can’t underrate them. But we can’t keep going back to history, this is a different year. We will work with the current crop of players to get the needed results.
“It is every Zambian desire to qualify for the World Cup,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chipolopolo Fans Association chairperson Yotham Mwanza said Zambia has quality players that could handle Sudan and advance to the group stage. Mwanza appealed to FAZ to ensure that the Chipolopolo begin their preparations early. “I have no doubt that Zambia can beat Sudan. We have enough human resource to take the team to the group stage. “What is important are early preparations for the team,” he said. Zambia will play the two-egged matches in November.
