FAZ is now only waiting for Emmanuel Mbola and Evans Kangwa to join the team ahead of the Gabon 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya on Sunday in Nairobi, says communications manager Nkweto Tembwe
Tembwe said Israeli–based Mbola and Kangwa were expected to arrive in Zambia this afternoon.
“Nine professionals have arrived and started training this morning. We are now only waiting for Mbola and Kangwa who may arrive tomorrow afternoon (today). We are expected to have a full squad training on Thursday,” he said.
He revealed that the team will leave for Kenya on Friday and fly back to Lusaka for a friendly game with Gabon on Tuesday at National Heroes Stadium.
“The team is scheduled to leave for Kenya on Friday and not Thursday like it has been reported in some sections of the media,
“The team will immediately fly out of Nairobi after the match ahead of the friendly game with Gabon in Lusaka. I have no doubt that the team will be adequately ready for Kenya by Friday,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chipolopolo squad was boosted by the presence of skipper Rainford Kalaba during a training session yesterday.
The TP Mazembe trio comprising Kalaba, Chongo Kabaso and Nathan Sinkala had their first training session with the team yesterday.
Others who had their training are French Ligue 1 side Lille based defender Stophilla Sunzu, first choice goal-keeper Kennedy Mweene and Morocco-based Aaron Katebe.
Zambia in group E is tied on a point with Kenya, Guinea Bissau and Congo.
