All opposition political parties have no solutions to the problems the country is currently experiencing and Zambians should not make a mistake of voting for them in next year’s general elections, says PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri.
Ms Phiri said Zambians should not listen to the lies from some desperate opposition leaders who were trying to make political mileage from the economic challenges Zambia was facing and claiming to have solutions to the same challenges.
Speaking at a public rally at Changanamai grounds in Kwacha Township of Kitwe, Ms Phiri said that the PF Government was working out ways to alleviate the economic challenges in the country, especially the problem of load-shedding.
“As a country, we are faced with challenges of load-shedding, depreciation of the Kwacha and also the effects of the low copper prices at the London Metal Exchange. This is just a difficult time and so opposition leaders should not tell you lies that they have the solutions to the problems.
“No, they don’t have the solutions to these problems; they are just telling you lies. They are also telling you lies that PF has caused these problems and so if you vote for them, they will solve the problems. They just want to be in Government. However, as a Government, PF is trying to find ways of alleviating these problems,” Ms Phiri said.
Ms Phiri also warned councillors and other PF cadres to desist from campaigning for the adoption of the PF parliamentary candidature in the next year’s general elections.
She said those entering other people’s constituencies to campaign for adoption were bringing confusion in the constituencies because parliament had not yet been dissolved, hence it was not time to pick candidates for adoption for parliamentary and local government positions.
“I have received information that some people are entering other people’s constituencies and are campaigning to be adopted as PF parliamentary candidates,
“Whoever is doing that, he or she should stop it because it is bringing confusion in the constituencies.
Councillors who think they will be adopted as PF parliamentary candidates in the next year’s elections are wasting their time,” She said.
The rally was attended by Chimwemwe MP Mwenya Musenge, Wusakile MP Richard Musukwa, Kamfinsa MP Moses Chishimba, Kwacha MP Bonnie Mutale, Roan MP Chishimba Kambwili and other PF cadres.
