Let the council clean Kitwe

Someone should make sure that the proceeds from revenue collection in Kitwe town go to buy dust bins to make the city clean. The city is so dirty as if the council does not exist. Vendors must be made to practise cleanliness where they are trading from. There are a lot of thefts at Kitwe City Council. Mr John Phiri, who seems to be dozing on duty, must dissolve the council to pave way for investigations.

UPND will be shocked in 2016

“PF, UPND share spoils”. In your Daily Nation of Saturday 26 September, you quoted Mr Hichilema as having said that the people of Solwezi had shown that UPND would form Government next year. When PF wins, UPND says that by elections are not barometers  for next year’s general elections. So why have the Solwezi results  all of a sudden become a barometer  and not Dora Siliya’s 12,000-plus votes in Petauke? No double standards,  Mr HH. You will get a shock next year.

M’membe and the leaked

presidential speech

I refer to the letter by Mr Luchembe which was published in your edition of 26 September.  I cannot understand why one person is committing all these felonies without remorse while the other case is still in court. I also agree that Mr M’membe should concentrate on the Rainbow party so that its election results could improve from the 200 votes received in Lubansheshi.

Where is our MP?

Kanyama and Ng’ombe MPs, where are you? I write to these two ministers, Gerry Chanda and Jean Kapata: Los Angels road needs to be re-done. You cannot park off the road because the road is damaged  at the edges and we need more roads to be tarred from Kanyama bus stop to Mumbwa road via Mutanda Bantu then Kanyama clinic to Soweto market like in matero and chawama .

Leadership is not about money

If money is all that the UPND needed to win by-elections, why did they only win one constituency? Leadership is not about money but service to the people. Even though money is important in an election you also need to inspire the people and offer good leadership. If money were what makes a leader then all the rich people would have been leaders.

Chirundu youth praises Lungu for his hard work

I wish to congratulate His Excellence Edgar Lungu for the role he has taken to unite Zambia through reconciliation and prayer. Chirundu youths are behind the developmental projects in the area such as the commencement of construction of council house, chirundu -Chiawa road construction and Michael Sata Bridge at pontoon. The leopard hill road to Chiawa and linking it to Chirundu will help trade. In the past we used to wait until the pontoon is fixed in order to sell goods especially fish from Chiawa but now it’s just a blink of an eye trade is facilitated. This is a new constituency separated from Siavonga where MPs from the opposition have been dominating but this time around they are facing uphill battle.

Congrats to UPND

I would like to congratulate the UPND for scooping the solwezi West by-election. This is a sign that the party is growing and that it is not a regional party as some people view it. Let the leadership of the Party continue to strategize as 2016 is just around the corner, time to plan is now.

Some media houses up to no good

It is a fact that some media bosses and some opposition leaders are sadists and economic saboteurs. The earlier our Government realizes the better for Zambia. These people cannot hold us hostage in our own country as if we don’t think to allow them to continue on the path of destroying our country with impunity in the name of freedom of speech.
