FORMER president Rupiah Banda’s son, Andrew, should know how to relate to elders so that he is acceptable to members of his family and other Zambians, Patriotic Front (PF) Lusaka Province Youth Chairman Kennedy Kamba has charged.
Mr. Kamba was reacting to Andrew’s comment that not even his tribe will save President Edgar Lungu from losing the 2016 presidential election because Easterners were not stupid to start praising him when he had allegedly failed. He said Andrew should tell the nation what President Lungu had failed to do in his tenure of office rather than just issuing statements which were baseless because the PF never rode on tribe to win the previous election. “Let Andrew tell the nation what the President has failed to do because we have rolled out development projects throughout the country regardless of whether the people voted for us or not and that is what will win us votes and not the tribe,” Mr. Kamba said.
He said Zambia had attained unprecedented development especially in the area of infrastructure development which would enable the party retain the presidency because the people were happy with the Government of the day.
“If one moved from Chongwe to Chipata through the Great East Road, they are able to see what this Government is doing.
Talking of the roads even here in Lusaka, you are able to see that even in areas where there were no roads, new ones are being built on a daily basis while old ones are being upgraded to dual lanes and this is what will make us win with a landslide victory and not the tribe that Andrew is talking about,” Mr. Kamba said.
He said Andrew had a short memory because he had ganged up with the same people who demonised him when he was facing court cases.
“Andrew and his father are not in good books simply because of his double standards. How can a person who is not in good standing with his father advise the nation on what government is doing?” Mr Kamba said.
