Peace attracting Saudi investments, says First Lady

First Lady Esther Lungu has attributed the overwhelming response of Saudi  Arabian private and public partnerships in Zambia  to the peace that the country has maintained over the years.

Mrs Lungu noted that the peace that exists in Zambia has opened up avenues to international investments in the country in various sectors.

The First Lady made the observation at a gala dinner held in her honour in Riyadh at the residence of Zambia’s Ambassador’s to Saudi Arabia where she interacted with Zambians living in that country.

Mrs Lungu urged Zambians to continue upholding the peace for the benefit of the nation.

Meanwhile, Zambia’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ibrahim Mumba noted that Zambia should seize the opportunity to partner with Saudi Arabia in various fields.

Mr. Mumba stated that it was incumbent upon all Zambians living in Saudi Arabia to take up the responsibility and make follow ups on the partnerships the First Lady had created in order for the country to benefit from them.

He said Saudi Arabia had already demonstrated its interests to partner with Zambia in many areas of development as evidenced from the assistance that the country is already offering to Zambia.

The ambassador pointed out that Saudi Arabia is among other things funding renovations at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) as well as rendering support in the supply of fertilizer.
