CUTTING Edge PR, a leading local communications agency, was awarded the 2015 Best Public Relations Agency of the Year at the 3rd annual Zambia Public Relations Association (ZAPRA) public relations and communications awards in Livingstone.
In addition to the top honour, the agency’s senior account executive, Alice Kalufyanya, was recognized as the 2015 Emerging Public Relations Practitioner of the Year.
“We are deeply humbled and honoured to receive the Best Public Relations Agency of the Year Award, the second year in a row. This recognition speaks directly to our continued commitment to offer our clients the best ideas-driven, results-oriented communications counsel in Zambia and beyond,” said Cutting Edge managing director, Ms Mildred Kaunda.
Ms Kaunda said it was not the first time Cutting Edge’s work had been celebrated by ZAPRA. In 2014, the agency was named Best Public Relations Agency of the Year and also presented with the Best Event award for its work on the Duke of Edinburgh International Award’s gala dinner held in honour of His Royal Highness Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex.
This year’s best public relations agency award was an apt recognition for what was truly a special year for Cutting Edge as it celebrated its 10th anniversary in September 2015.
“We are very proud of being Zambia’s pioneer PR agency and of the growth we continue to enjoy. It is a special tribute to receive this award as we celebrate our 10th anniversary this year.
‘‘We are extremely grateful to our team, partners, clients and colleagues who have believed in us and stood by us through the years – all playing a critical role in our success and helping us earn this,” she said
Cutting Edge prides itself on having a seasoned PR team that comprises consultants who bring together business, communications and marketing acumen and experience.
Adhering to the agency’s core values of quality, integrity, response and teamwork, these consultants deliver strategic and creative campaigns that continuously push boundaries and exceed expectations.
Emerging PR practitioner award recipient, Alice Kalufyanya, has been a
member of the Cutting Edge team for four years and has helped devise and deliver integrated communications strategies to a complex client base.
Commenting on Alice’s award, Ms. Kaunda said: “To watch a young Zambian graduate gradually develop communications consultancy skills as well as the confidence to ably provide counsel to a diverse set of clients gives us immense pleasure that the internal skills transfer mechanism is working.”
The Cutting Edge team strives to build a homegrown public relations industry wherever they work, using their capabilities as innovative and professional communicators to achieve results.
