‘Claims that I insulted the people of Southern Province are false’, Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davies Chama has said.
Mr. Chama said he was a cultured person who was raised in a Christian family which upheld morality and Christian values.
“I never insulted anybody and its not my nature to insult anybody. I cannot insult my parents because I have parents here in Southern Province. I have my mothers in Southern Province. i have my friends, my best friends are here in Southern Province and I cannot insult a tribe or any particular person because its not my nature to insult,”he said.
Mr Chama said it was against that background that he could not discriminate human beings on account of one’s tribe
He said this when he officiated at a PF Southern Province mobilization tour at Chikankata Primary school recently.
The PF secretary general had in the last few months attracted the wrath of the Southern Province over allegations of having disparaged the Tonga speaking people .
The remarks annoyed Southern Province traditional leaders that led to them petitioning President Edgar Lungu to fire the PF Secretary General and his Deputy Mumbi Phiri for their alleged divisive language.
Mr Chama said the accusations were aimed at scandalizing him for political mileage by some political opponents.
