Zambia woos American investors

AMERICAN investors have been invited to come and explore the vast investment potential in Zambia.

The appeal was made by Zambia’s Ambassador to the USA  Mr Palan Mulonda when he addressed a meeting for businessesmen organized by the African Super Global Centre (AGSC) at the Berks County Community Foundation in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Ambassador Mulonda said the investment opportunities were readily available in Zambia and appealed to the business community to consider investing in various economic sectors.

He said there were several available methods of investing in Zambia such as joint ventures, and public private partnership (PPP).

The ambassador said Zambia was strategically positioned for investors to conduct business with the rest of the world because the environment was suitable.

“The Zambian Government has and will continue to put in place both soft and hard infrastructure in order to ensure that the country remains an ideal, secure as well as stable investment destination,” he said.

Ambassador Mulonda commended the AGSC for the efforts made towards promoting business ties especially among the diaspora in the U.S, with entrepreneurs in Africa and beyond.

“It is indeed gratifying to note that the AGSC is, within the coming year, planning to hold a business conference in Zambia under the theme “Empowering entrepreneurs by bringing their products to the market place”.

“This should act as a great opportunity for both Zambian and U.S entrepreneurs who wish to begin or expand their businesses reach either side of the Atlantic. “Ambassador Mulonda said.

He encouraged the AGSC to keep up the spirit of promoting trade and investment especially within the context of utilizing programs such as the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
