Chama’s remarks primitive, says Mumbi

The continuous tribal based attacks on UPND president Hakainde Hichilema are primitive, says UPND presidential Spokesperson Edward Mumbi.

He said it was unfortunate that Mr. Chama had continued to accuse Mr. Hichilema and the UPND of been tribal.

“It is sad to note that Mr. Chama has continued to paint a wrong picture of HH as a tribalist, when he’s actually not. It is not right and this can cause chaos in the country, and we don’t wish for that. He is been so unreasonable,” Mr. Mumbi said.

He was reacting to Mr Chama allegation that Mr Hichilema called Chieftainess Choongo and blasted her for welcoming the PF secretary general and speaking with him in Bemba

And incensed UPND members yesterday converged on the party secretariat in Lusaka chanting anti-tribalism slogans and later presented a petition demanding legal actions against Mr Chama for allegedly defaming party leader Hakainde Hichilema.

The UPND members led by Prisca Chipulu presented the petition to party secretary general in charge of administration Captain Walusiku Lyambela

Ms Chipulu and her group demanded in the petition that Mr Hichilema should sue Mr Chama because he was ‘‘a great danger to national peace and stability’’.

And briefing journalists yesterday, Captain Lyambela said the party membership had decided to petition the party leadership to take legal action against Mr Chama because they felt he was a great danger to national peace and stability.
