GBM threatens Kambwili

OPPOSITION UPND vice president Geoffrey Mwamba has accused Minister of Information Chishimba Kambwili of having accumulated questionable  wealth which he has threatened would be  grabbed should his party form government in August this year.

But PF legal counsel Tutwa Ngulube has described Mr. Mwamba’s remarks as utterances of a desperate and irresponsible politician.

Mr Ngulube said records were in public domain to show which politician has a higher record of violence to workers, spouse and general public.

Addressing a rally at Comet grounds in Kabwe’s Makululu compound, Mr. Mwamba said that Mr. Kambwili had acquired unexplained wealth. “Kambwili and his friends in PF have instantly become millionaires,” he charged.

Efforts to get a comment from Mr. Kambwili failed but Mr Ngulube challenged Mr. Mwamba to substantiate his allegations.

Mr. Ngulube charged that Mr. Mwamba was ‘’ranting’’ because of his frustrations for being expelled from the ruling party for gross indiscipline.

“GBM was expelled for gross indiscipline and rushed to courts. Surprisingly he challenged the expulsion but in another word says he resigned from the party. There are records of violence to his workers, spouse and just ordinary members of society; so people can judge for themselves,’’ he said.

Addressing the same rally in Makululu compound, UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema promised to solve the economic problems facing the country and particularly reduce unemployment levels in Kabwe by opening up more industries.

“PF lied that they would reopen Mulungushi Textiles but they haven’t. When you allow us to form government, we will open up the town to investment, industrialization and also increase the access to loans for our youths. The poverty levels are so grave in this town and the whole country because of PF’s bad leadership”, he said.
