2 Nigerian prophets deny defiling charge

TWO Nigerian prophets of Christ Freedom Ministries yesterday pleaded not guilty in a Lusaka Magistrates to defiling a girl under the age of 16.

The two brothers, Andrew Ejimadu, 39, and Cleopas Ejimadu, 21, residents of Lusaka’s lbex Hill area, denied the charge when they appeared before Magistrate Sylvia Munyinya.

It is alleged that the Elimajadus on unknown dates but between January 28 and December 31, 2015, had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16.

The duo was granted cash bail of K15,000 with two working sureties in the like sum.

The matters come up on July 29 for trial.

And in another court, a Lusaka woman Precious Lungowe Litebele, 30, of Woodlands, accused of killing her husband Akakanda Lubinda Litebele,  on May 25 , 2016, was yesterday committed to the Lusaka High Court for trial.

Ms Lungowe was committed to the High Court after the prosecutor informed the court that he was in possession of a certificate to commit the accused to the High Court for trial.

Lungowe first appeared before Chief Resident Magistrate Kenneth Mulife for an explanation of the charge of murder as she waited for instructions of committal to the High Court from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Lungowe, a banker of Banc-ABC, is alleged to have shot her husband Litebele who was also a banker five times during a marital dispute.
