‘‘I HAVE given my all for my President; when others chose to leave and turn against him, I stayed and remained loyal to the Patriotic Front (PF)’’, says former Information and Broadcasting minister Chishimba Kambwili.
In a Facebook posting, Mr Kambwili, who was re-elected Member of Parliament for Roan constituency, congratulated President Lungu for his victory in the just ended general election.
He disclosed that he had remained loyal to the Head of State when most of the old members of the ruling party abandoned him.
Mr Kambwili said that he was happy throughout the electoral process because he had campaigned hard and that there was no limit to hard work and loyalty.
“I have given my all for my President; when others chose to leave and turn against him I stayed and remained loyal to the Patriotic Front. As the results come in I cannot help but smile and be happy because indeed there is no limit to hard work and loyalty
defines a man,” he said.
Mr Kambwili said President Lungu’s victory should be dedicated to the late president and founder of PF, Michael Sata.
Mr Kambwili said Mr Sata gave them a chance to be leaders and that they were extremely grateful for his mentorship and blessings.
Meanwhile, former Member of Parliament for Zambezi West Christabel Ngimbu disclosed that Senior Chief Ndungu of Zambezi district celebrated President Lungu’s victory with a gun salute at his palace.
Ms Ngimbu, who is the former Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection minister, thanked the chief for his support throughout the campaigns ahead of the just ended general elections.
“Senior Chief Ndungu celebrated President Lungu’s win with a gun salute at his palace. Thank you my chief for your support throughout our campaigns. Congratulations to my President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, man of the people, God-fearing and a hard working President, our political mentor to humility.” said Ms Ngimbu.
And former Energy minister Dora Siliya has congratulated President Lungu for his victory and wished him continued good health.
Ms Siliya said that the Zambian people were taking democracy to greater heights by turning up in large numbers to exercise their right to vote.
She also congratulated the opposition political parties who
participated in the elections for their spirited fight.
“I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate all Zambians for once again taking our democracy to greater heights. I congratulate all opposition parties for their spirited fight. May I also congratulate my party, the PF, for a first round win.
‘‘To His Excellency, President Lungu I wish you continued health and wisdom,” said Ms Siliya.
