ZANACO pound Wanderers 4-0

ZANACO yesterday disgraced not so “Mighty” Mufulira Wanderers 4-0 to maintain their lead on the Super Division while Power Dynamos humbled Green Buffalos 4-1.

The bankers proved too strong for the visitors in a Week 25 double header played at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.

Zanaco could have taken the lead in the first five minutes when Roderick Kabwe shot over the bar.

But Zanaco’s pursuit for an opener came in the 17th minute when referee Wisdom Chewe ruled for a penalty kick after Warren Kunda handed the ball in the box.

Kabwe’s spot kick landed inside the corner of the net to make it 1-0 in favour of the bankers.

In the second half, Zanaco were unstoppable and determined as Attram Kwame added the second goal in the 53rd minute.Ten minutes later, Aubrey Funga increased the tally to three when he headed in Kabwe’s corner kick.

Ernest Mbewe rounded-up Zanaco’s victory in the 85th minute with a beautiful strike from the box.

At Sunset Stadium, Nkana gave Lusaka Dynamos a 2-0 beating to maintain second place on the table and a five point gap against rivals Zanaco with 58 points.

Nkana are, however, a point ahead of third placed Power who have 52.

Nkana failed to break the deadlock in first half with Walter Bwalya shooting wide the net twice.

Freddy Tshimenga opened the scores in the 65th minute striking from a Simon Bwalya beautiful pass to put Nkana ahead.  Six minutes later, Jacob Ngulube extended the lead for Nkana when he shot in the corner of the net.Jubell Sakala, Marvin Jere and Webster Muzaza’s efforts to upset the result failed to materialise. Lusaka Dynamos have 25 points and smelling the relegation zone.At Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe, Power Dynamos took the lead in the 10th minute through Luka Lungu.  Patson Daka scored in the 26th minute before Kelvin Kampamba made it 3-0 in the 34th minute. Daka sealed off the victory three minutes after the break while Jack Chirwa scored the consolation for Green Buffaloes in the 60th minute.In Choma, visiting Red Arrows beat Green Eagles 1-0. Hosts Nchanga Rangers edged Nakambala Leopards 1-0.
