ZRA chief Msiska sacked


PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has with immediate effect fired Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner-General Berlin Msiska and replaced him with commissioner-customs Kingsley Chanda.

The President took the action in line with powers vested in him pursuant to Section 19 of the Zambia Revenue Act, Chapter 321 of the laws of Zambia.

President Lungu has also written to the Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Patrick Matibini, on the appointment of Vice President Inonge Wina as leader of Government business in the National Assembly pursuant to Article 74 (1) of the Constitution of Zambia.

The President has also informed the Speaker of the appointment of Richard Musukwa, PF Member of Parliament for Chililabombwe constituency, as Chief Whip and Steven Chungu, Member of Parliament for Luanshya constituency, as deputy Chief Whip.

Meanwhile, President Lungu has sent a message of condolences to Pope Francis at the Vatican on the death of Catholic father Kennedy Katongo, director of the justice, peace and integrity creation of Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

Fr. Katongo passed away in Rome yesterday.

This     is according to a statement issued to the Daily Nation by special assistant to the President Amos Chanda.
