UPND fails to produce PVT

THE opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has been challenged to make public their own Parallel Voter Tabulation (PVT) which they are using to claim they had won the last general elections. Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) executive director Pukuta Mwanza told the Daily Nation yesterday that the UPND leadership had been making outrageous statements that they had won the August 11th general elections without facts. When confronted UPND secretary general Stephen Katuka refused to comment or provide the PVT, saying: “If I give you a comment your boss will change it.” Rev Mwanza stated that claims by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema that he had won the presidency without facts and details were nothing but wishful thinking and a recipe for anarchy and lawlessness in the country. He said the Christian Churches Monitoring Group (CCMG) was a consortium of five church groups and one could not discredit a consortium that had such a large number of Christian churches. “The CCMG is a very credible institution whose PVT cannot be doubted. The PVT conducted by CCMG was a validation of the ECZ results. They (UPND) must accept such a credible PVT conducted by a group such as the CCMG and I think anybody contradicting such results should have facts and provide their own PVT. They should display and explain how their PVT results were arrived at,” Rev Mwanza said. He said the PVT results conducted by CCMG had been very consistent with the PVT conducted in 2011, 2015 and 2016 and could therefore not be considered to have been flawed. “If anybody has got any outcome of their own PVT, the best is to make these results public and show the variance between various PVTs on the outcome of the elections. “But to make outrageous comments as to who won the election and who did not win without facts and details of their statement is wishful thinking and it is not just right. It is a recipe for anarchy, recipe for lawlessness and a recipe for just rhetoric for wanting to claim results they have not obtained,” Rev Mwanza said. He said it was very unfair for the UPND to claim they won the general elections without providing their own PVT. Rev Mwanza said the PVT results by the CCMG actually guaranteed that results of the August general elections were very credible. Rev Mwanza said people should understand that in any election there coRev Mwanza said Zambia must move forward and those who had lost the election must show integrity by acknowledging the winner.

This to me is very sad reading. Is Mr Pukuta Mwanza the new Judge at the ConCourt? Or has EFZ become the new ConCourt? Please I don’t what to sin because some men of God are taking to the streets to speak things they know fully well that these issues are in the courts of law and the fact is this case was not heard. One does not need to be called Bishop, Pastor or Reverend to know what it means when a case has been taken to court and what should be done. Please try and talk about how you as Mr Pukuta Mwanza should unite the church, the politicians, the country that you have split apart due to your appetite for handouts form your friends in PF. Stop taking sides and start doing what you went into Christian ministry for. You know a lot and you want to cover up with petty isues. Where is HH, GBM and the UPND supposed to take the PVT to for proof? Have you now come up with your own court that we should be bringing our cases to for hearing? God forbid that it should be so. In fact I would like to meet you together with Mr Joshua Banda to remind you of your ealy zeal for the lord. You guys have backsliden and you need to come back to the Lord otherwise God is not happy with you. because you have misled Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu and his PF friens. Tka a look at what you allowed Brother Nervers Mumbu in the name of reconciliation with Mr Rupiya Bwezani Banda. It was a shame. Please let us read the Bible and understand it otherwise the Diplomas and degrees that we get in Theology will just take us to hell.
