JUSTIN Chipulu was in a class of his own as he outmuscled 29 other bodybuilders to retain the Mr Nchanga Open title on Saturday night at Mokorro Game Ranch and Hotel in Chingola
Despite facing tough competition from Abraham Ng’ona and Nictor Makweza, Chipulu was a marvel to watch by a fully packed audience as he exhibited unmatched biceps and triceps.
Chipulu walked away with a water dispenser while second place Ng’ona received Defy microwave and Makwezo got a Gotv decoder plus a considerable cash for the three.
Chipulu said he was happy that the tough training endured in the last few months yielded positive results. “I am grateful to God for doing it for me. My target was to win the title and it’s what I have achieved tonight. It was a tough contest but my hard-work paid off. Thanks to the sponsors and the association for successfully hosting the event,” he said.
He said he was returning to the gym to prepare for Mr. Zambia scheduled for December.
Zambia Body Building and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) vice-president and Nchanga Gym chairperson Brown Ng’ambi said Mokorro management pledged to take up the organization of the event next year.
Ng’ambi further described the event a success and expressed happiness with the high turn-out of fans. “We had a large audience which led to Mokorro pledging to take up the event next year. The pledge has excited Nchanga Gym and will surely motivate the body builders. The competition was stiff,” he said. He urged the body builders not to relax if they wished to win the Mr. Zambia title. He said Mr. Zambia was very competitive, therefore should train harder and remain disciplined to emerge winner.
