Mufumbwe UPND official defects to PF

THE position United party for National Development (UPND) in Mufumbwe district has suffered another setback after its constituency chairperson Bruce Kanema ditched his former party and joined the ruling Patriotic Front (PF). Last week the opposition party failed to field a candidate in the Lalafuta local government by election in Mufumbwe district after it failed to identify a credible and qualified candidate. Announcing his resignation in Solwezi, Mr Kanema said he did not want to be left behind hence his decision to join the PF which he said has already done a lot to transform the country Mufumbwe district inclusive. He said he decided to join the PF because it is a visionary party with a clear vision for the country. ‘’I have been a a senior party member of the UPND for a very long time, but I have realised that the party is not going anywhere. Besides that the party has clear vision for this great nation, he said. He claimed that there are many members of the UPND not only in Mufumbwe but in the entire province who would want to join the PF. ‘’It is just a matter of time, sooner or later there will be mass exodus of people to PF because people have realised that there nothing the UPBND its leadership can offer, he explained. He also accused his former party of exercising tribal and selfish politics. He appealed to other UPND members to emulate him by joining the ruling party. And PF provincial youth mobilisation chairperson Harold Zholomi said it was clear that the youths  from the opposition had realised the true leadership of President Edgar Lungu hence their decision to join the ruling party. Mr Zholomi said it was worth pointing out that the PF had widened its catch in the province adding that the opposition party was still leaving in the past glory.
