Kampyongo warns disloyal police officers

GOVERNMENT will not hesitate to fire law enforcers who were indiscipline and disloyal to the Government of the day, Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo has warned.

And Mr Kampyongo has told UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to immediately stop masquerading as President and trying to cause chaos in the country or risked being arrested.

He reiterated that it was high time that the opposition swallowed their pride and accepted that President Edgar Lungu was the only Republican President.

He said the Police would not get tired of arresting those trying to disturb the peace that the country has continued to enjoy.

The Minister said this when he presented his maiden speech in Parliament.

“Those who want to continue masquerading must know that we won’t get tired of arresting them. It’s for people to accept that there is only one President of Zambia and his name is Edgar Chagwa Lungu,” Mr. Kamyongo said.

He also stated that his Ministry would ensure that the law enforcement agencies were disciplined and discharged their duties according to the expectations of Zambians.

Mr. Kamyongo said Government would fire all law enforcers who were misled by the opposition to frustrate Government’s efforts in maintaining law and order in the country.

“I want to make it very clear that we are going to ensure that the law enforcement agencies are disciplined so that they discharge their functions according to the way the people of Zambia expect. “Those who are indisciplined and misled by some people that when they become president they will be given positions must think twice.
