UPND Kalumbila Councillor nabbed for forgery

POLICE in Kalumbila district have arrested the UPND councillor for Lumwana ward for forgery.

Out-going North Western Province Commissioner of Police Lackson Sakala confirmed the development to the Daily Nation and identified the suspect as Friness Chishika of Mulope village in Senior Chief Mukumbi’s area.

Mr Sakala said Mr Chishika was arrested on Monday and charged with four counts of forgery involving false documents which the suspect presented to public officers.

He said Mr Chishika between March 28 and 31 May 2016, gave false information to Maheba police by purporting that she had lost her NRC of registration number 175795/24/1 with names of  Brenda Chishika who died years ago.

Chishika used the same report to replace an NRC at Solwezi registration office.

“Chishika is also alleged to have used the same NRC and false Grade 12 certificate with serial number 0413166 to file in nominations at Lumwana Basic in the just ended elections of August 11, 2016, for ward councillor,” he explained.

He disclosed that the councillor was currently in police custody and will appear in court soon.
