Kambwili should humble himself

Editor,

Allow me space in your paper to express my disappointment over the outburst of Roan lawmaker Mr Chishimba Kambwili. I think he has a very big problem when it comes to self-control. I am shocked at his outburst over ACC’s decision to probe him on his alleged corruption. Instead of humbling himself, he is there ‘daring’ the investigative wings to either go to hell or heaven. Surely, is this comment necessary ba honourable? Anyways, we will wait for the investigations.

Govt to blame on councillors’ salary concerns

Editor,

We are told that Government has no money and the writings were on the wall that councillors are never paid. However, Government must also be blamed for setting bad conditions that have seen a lot of inexperienced school leavers who were supposed to be in colleges for their further studies wanting to become councillors.

Removal of agricultural subsidies to worsen poverty

Editor,

Correct me if I am wrong. The move by the Minister of Finance to remove subsidies from agriculture will cause more problems than good because the cost of production will increase, thereby triggering an increase in prices of food. Remember 70%-80% of Zambians live below the poverty datum line meaning they will not be able to produce or buy what will be produced by rich farmers. This will result in more poverty for most of Zambians.

Corruption on the rise in the country

Editor,

We are going down a hole and I don’t see a way out. Corruption is on the highest level. Who says that after removal of subsidies on fuel and electricity this would help the nation? Some of our leaders will continue to misuse and steal public funds meant to better the lives of poor Zambians.

Shame on you Richard Kazala

Editor,

It is really a shame on Richard Kazala. I would like to urge the FAZ president to clean up the mess at the football house. Be firm and kick out wrong elements in your organisation. Even our President Lungu will definitely support you.

Deputy Ministers out

Editor,

I am so saddened that Government wants to consider bringing back deputy ministers instead of paying the retirees who have suffered for so long. It is sad that there is no Member of Parliament who has ever talked about the plight of the retirees. Lord have mercy for the retirees

IMF and World Bank loans too costly

Editor,

The International Monetary Fund is the worst option compared to a friendly debt from China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other nations which are flexible and friendly.  Please, stop this suicidal and retrogressive move. Once beaten, twice shy. Let us ‘tekanya’ and be careful with World Bank and IMF suffocating, depressing conditions. We do not need another HIPC again.

Yes, bring back SITET

Editor,

I agree with the idea of bringing back SITET. People must account for the wealth they accumulated over night. I do not totally agree that our economy is in the intensive care unit (ICU). NO! Selfish and greedy individuals in public service, parastatal and private sectors have played a major role in distorting the economy.
