Jazzman Chikwakwa dies

 

FORMER Masaiti Constituency Member of Parliament Jazzman Chikwakwa has died following an illness.

Chikwakwa, who also served as former mines deputy Minister in the MMD government, died on Saturday night at 23:40hours at the Ndola Central Hospital.

His son, Maradona Chikwakwa, confirmed Mr. Chikwakwa’s death to the Daily Nation in Ndola in an interview.

Maradona described the demise of his father as a great loss to the Lamba people and that they had lost a dedicated king of the land.

The 67-year-old politician served in various positions in Government having also served as Luapula province permanent secretary in Rupiah Banda’s government. Mr. Chikwakwa is survived by a wife, 12 children and 22 grandchildren. The body of the late former minister is lying at Ndola central hospital mortuary and the funeral for the late Hon. Jazzman Chikwakwa is being held at house no: 55 Copper Street Kansenshi in Ndola.
