As Zambia joins the rest of the world in the commemoration of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, filmmaker Cassie Kabwita takes her new film Kwacha to the big screens.
The gender-based violence influenced movie premiers on December 7th at Ster Kenekor in Lusaka starting with a red carpet at 16:30.
Cast members mainly celebrity actors such as music producer KB, dancer and beautician Zodwa Khumalo, radio personality Lungowe Simbotwe and musician Mumba Yachi are all set for the premier and are expected to share interactive moments with invited guests.
Others expected at the premier include Andrew Zulu Jr, the youngest actor in the movie. He will be joined by veterans Owas Ray Mwape, Cassie Kabwita herself plus movie director Maynarji.
The movie is purely an awareness campaign that brings out the ugly face of gender-based violence as well as child abuse. It features Cassie Kabwita as main character called KWACHA a famous actress using her fame to advocate for sexual abuse.
Tickets to the movie which also features Tanzanian actors are K100.
