A PREGNANT young woman of Lusaka admitted in the local court having sex in the veranda of her home with her lover who has since been charged for deflowering and impregnating her.
Prudence Mudenda, 19, of Kalingalinga compound was testifying in a case in which her father, Irvine Mbombole, 51, a farmer of Makeni sued Joseph Banda, 20, of Kalingalinga compound for deflowering and impregnating his daughter (Prudence)
However, Banda denied impregnating Prudence.
Mbombole told Senior Court Magistrate Abbyshine Michelo sitting with Magistrates Lewis Mumba and Esther Mulomba at Kanyama Local Court that when his daughter fell pregnant, she named Banda for being responsible.
In defence, Banda denied responsibility for the three months pregnancy because he made love to Prudence in January.
He explained that it was Prudence who proposed love to him because he did not want to have responsibilities.
Banda said that he made love to Prudence when she called him to assist her lock the door but instead she started feeling him and subsequently she made love to him.
Prudence testified that they started a steamy relationship with Banda in February and that after she shifted to another place, he continued following her, adding that on August 3, they made love in the veranda at night. She testified that the following day, Banda followed her again at her place and that they made love in the house at 12.00 hours. She told the court that she made love with Banda several times and that the veranda encounter was the fifth. Magistrate Michelo Banda found Banda guilty and ordered him to compensate Mbombole with K6000 with initial payment of K800 followed by monthly instalments of K300 and that if he was in doubt, he was free to go for DNA test when the child reached the age of six months.
