Cheshire home gets free pest control offer

CHESHIRE Homes and CM Environmental Services have signed a one-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) where the private entity has pledged to offer free pest control services worth K30, 000 in order to combat malaria and other pests at the home for the vulnerable. Speaking after the MoU signing on Tuesday, at Cheshire Homes Kabulonga, CMES director Costa Muuba said that the company had decided to offer free services which would include mosquito, cockroach, termites, bedbugs and snakes control as a humanitarian gesture to the physically challenged children. Mr Muuba said his organization was touched and impressed by the overwhelming work Cheshire Homes was doing to make society a better place, hence decided to offer a one-year free service to control pests such as mosquitoes, snakes and termites as one way of appreciating their work. He said that although the MoU was for a one year the company would start work immediately to make the environment at the home healthier and friendlier to live in and learn. “We decided to enter into an MoU with Cheshire Homes where we will provide free services which include control of termites which destroy walls and spray mosquitoes to combat malaria, as one way to appreciate the good work they are offering to the physically challenged children, the traumatized and needy in society to make their surroundings free from diseases,” he said.   Cheshire Homes Kabulonga sister in charge Clara said that it had been a challenge to control mosquitoes and that the offer had come at an appropriate time. Sister Clara thanked CM Environmental Services for their kind gesture as it would help to make the environment a better place for the children to live in and learn.   The children, most of whom are in wheelchairs, were also on hand to sing songs of joy as one way of showing their

appreciation.
